Buca dei Gracchi

Buca of Gracchi is located in Campocatino, in Vagli di Sotto a village of the Upper Garfagnana.
It is at about 1000 metres altitude and is named after a typical raptorial bird called "gracchio" that lives in the park of Alpi Apuane. In this area there is also a pair of royal eagles.

Long ago this site used to be an old summer alpine pasture, while today all the stone made alpine huts have been turned into mountain camp.
